Toordal 1 cup Cook dal in a pressure cooker.
Shallots cleaned as whole 300gm
Green chilly 5,tamarind paste 1 tspn,chilly powder 1 tspn,coriander 1 tspn,turmeric powder 1/2 tspn
asafoetida powder 1/3 tspn,fenugreek powder 1/4 tspn,jaggery powdered 2 tspn,fried urd dal powder 1 tblspn,curry leave 1 sprig,salt to taste
Add the above ingrediants except fenugreek and asafoetida to the cooked dal and cook well.
Add fenugreek and asafoetida powder,mix well.
Seasoning ingrediants cooking oil 2 tspn,mustard seeds 1/2 tspn,dried chilly 2 and cuury leaves.
Heat oil in pan ,drop in dried chillies followed by mustard seeds.When it pops full add curry leaves.
Add the mixture to shallot sambar and garnish with cilantro.
