Dal cooked in pressure cooker 1 cup
Onion sliced 1 cup
Okra 24,tamarind concentrate 1 tspn
Green chilly sliced 2,curry leaf 1 sprig,salt to taste,cilantro chopped 1 tblspn
Grated coconut 1/2 cup,coriander powder 1 tspn,chilly powder 1 tspn,turmeric powder 1/4 tspn,
asafoetida powder 1/2 tspn,fenugreek powder a pinch
For seasoning-cooking oil 2 tspn,mustard seeds 1/2 tspn,fenugreek seeds 1/4 tspn,dried chillies 2
Fry coconut in a pan till golden brown,simmer flame add cuury powders,just combine ,remove from flame,allow to cool,then grind into coarse powder.
I n a wok add cooked dal,onion,green chilly,boil ,add okra,cook well,add tamarind ,salt and fried
coconut mix,let it boil in low flame,add curry leaves and remove from flame.
Heat oil in a pan ,drop in dried chillies,followed by mustard and fenugreek seeds.Once seeds are popped add balance curry leaves and pour to the sambar.Garnish with cilantro.
