Toor dal 1 cup
Shallots 200gm,cleaned and sliced
Tomato 3 ,chopped
Green chilly 4 ,sliced,chilly powder ,coriander powder 1 tspn each,turmeric powder 1/3 tspn,
Asafoetida powder 1 tspn,fenugreek powder 1/4 tspn,salt to taste,curry leaf 2 sprigs
Cooking oil 2 tspn,mustard seeds 1/4 tspn,dried chilly 2
Pressure cook toordal and shallots.Add tomato,salt,masala ,1 sprig curry leaf and cook well.
Heat oil in a pan ,drop in dried chilly and mustard,allow to pop,add curry leaf.
Add seasoning to sambar and remove to serving bowl.
